Competition Requirements
1.The form of competition is saxophone quartet. The amateur group must be formed by using the same or different saxophones. The professional group must be formed by a soprano saxophone, an alto saxophone, a tenor saxophone and a baritone saxophone.

2.The contest is structured in two rounds:
a. Preliminary: by video
b. Final: live performance

3. Age requirement
Amateur:
Children: Born after Jan.1, 2001
Youth or older: Born before Jan.1, 2001
Professional:
Group A:Born after Jan.1, 1992
Group B:Born after Jan.1, 1986

Notice: The amateur group is allowed to participate in the professional group, but the professional group is not allowed to participate in the amateur group. A younger group is allowed to participatein the elder group, but the elder group is not allowed to participatein the younger group. If a quartet is formed by players of different ages, the age of the oldest player will decide the eligibility of the group.

4. Competition time, location and awards
a. The amateur group: After the preliminary round, ten groups will enter the final round. The final round will be held in Small Hall of Sichuan Conservatory of Music on Aug.29, 2015.
b. The professional group: After the preliminary round, ten groups will enter the final round. The final round will be held in Small Hall of Sichuan Conservatory of Music betweenDec. 19 and 20, 2015.
c. The list of groups eligible for the final round will be announced on the website on Jun. 25, 2015.
d. The awards for the professional group and a music concert will be held on the same day with the final round. The list of winners will be announced at the following websites:

5. Scoring of competitors
The amateur group
The preliminary round
a. One obligatory piece of YAMAHA standard score.
b. One piece of the group’s choice, the duration of which does
not exceed 5 minutes.
Final round
a. One obligatory piece of YAMAHA standard score.
b. One piece of the group’s choice, the duration of which does
not exceed 5 minutes.

The professional group
The preliminary round
a. J. S. Bach, “Concerto Italien”, BWV.971 1st. Movement
(Arr. Katsuki TOCHIO)
b. One piece of the group’s choice, the duration of which does not exceed 10 minutes.

Final round
a.Jean River, “Grave et Presto”.
b.One piece of the group’s choice, the duration of which
does not exceed 10 minutes.
Notice: The pieces for the final round must be different from that for the preliminary round.

6.The jury:The jury will be announced a month before competition

b. Registration fee
The amateur group: 600 RMB（Registration fee cannot be returned or transferred）
The professional group: 1000 RMB（Registration fee cannot be returned or transferred）
