Custom made BBb contrabass trombone by Larry Minick. Originally built for Bill Reichenbach, later owned by Bob Sanders of the Pacific Symphony, and Jeff Reynolds of the LA Philharmonic. It has been rented by the Cleveland Orchestra and played by Thomas Klaber. Unlacquered, double slide, removable leadpipe, stacked double rotary valves in BBb/FF/DD, includes fiber straight mute owned by Roger Bobo (probably an Aulos or Ted Griffith), custom Mirafone TU23 mouthpiece, and the best part: It comes in a TOW (target on wire) tube missile launcher case. This horn is not for the meek. This a big horn that can take some serious work to play. It's not especially nimble, but it's most likely the best BBb contrabass trombone on the market. And, it's a piece of history. You must have it, no denying that. |
